The Hands-Free law went into effect in MN on August 1, 2019.
Along with sponsors, Lakeland Broadcasting promoted awareness with an online quiz about distracted driving, the new law, and even a question or two about Robert. They pledged a dollar for every quiz that got 100% correct answers and were able to donate $1,736 to the Robert J. Brau Family Foundation.
They also placed those names into a drawing for a hands-free mount for their vehicle:

2018 Annual Ride for Robert
August 14, 2018
We had a great turnout for this year's ride, which also included a walk around Robbin's Island in Willmar, a visit to the Angel Memorial where Robert is remembered along with other deceased children of local families. We served food (including Robertesque, over-filled sandwiches) and beverages to everyone that joined us and posted photos of loved ones who've been killed by distracted drivers.
The local newspaper, the West Central Tribune, featured our photo on the frontpage the following day.
